Even though I’m a tad late, I’ve been wanting to post some pictures of the snow day that we had on January 9th (which also happened to be Dixie’s 10th birthday). Still can’t believe in my almost 35 years of life in Texas I’ve seen more snow in the past two years than in my entire life. Global warming?
Love this one of C looking outside at her big sisters. (Wish that glass were clean, though.)
Enjoying the snow with Daddy.
She’s not sure what to think at first.
But soon after she just couldn’t get enough of it!
Little A freezing her hiney off.
Big A LOVES the snow and can handle the cold better than the rest of us!
Building a snowman. I have no idea where Little A’s socks mittens are! (We’re not too prepared around here for snowy weather, if you can’t tell…)
Still finding tiny pieces of snow to snack on.
Hot chocolate time!
She settled for some M&Ms.
And we ended the night singing Happy Birthday to our furry family member. Our Dixie Poo is TEN! The girls made her some concoction with people food and dog treats.

Here is my beautiful, new newborn posing ottoman.
To some, it might look like no big deal. But, it was a very big deal.
Maybe as big as a SNOW day.
So much fun I welcomed the mess. Maybe even participated in it.
The styrofoam balls were so slippery (Christopher says I need to say they acted like “ball bearings”), that they were able to use the ottoman as a slide and a spinner!
Sticks. to. everything.
I had as much fun as they did!
C is not sure what to think, but she sure did like to chew on them. Don’t worry, she always spit them out. Like she does Polly Pocket shoes.
Are you wondering how it got to be such a mess? Well, here’s our contraption, a funnel of some sorts. Wasn’t exactly perfect. Several hundred missed the ottoman.
Here we are trying to fill it…
Now if this doesn’t make me a fun mom – really – I have no hope.
Moral of the story? Sometimes it’s worth the mess. And make a better contraption.
I think the girls will remember this for a long time. Besides the pictures, random tiny styrofoam balls will continue to find us.

In mid-December I ordered a wonderful bean bag ottoman that’s made specifically for photographers for posing newborn babies. I just got it in last week, and I was so excited to try it out for today’s shoot.
The drawback is that it doesn’t come already stuffed with the bean bag filling. The lady who makes these suggests Wal-Mart for the filling, so I bought it online and I went to pick it up this morning because it had just arrived. I had every intention of being able to use it today. Get home, get it stuffed and be ready for my ten o’clock shoot.
Oh, but no, this stuff was a total mess. Luckily my mother-in-law was here to watch Baby C, so I enlisted her help. It took us at least 30 minutes just to get half the bag of filling put into the bean bag (and there are FOUR bags total). The problem is that the hole in the bean bag is fairly small and the bags of filling are huge. So you can only imagine the mess.
But luckily, you don’t just have to imagine. Because I have pictures to document it. The girls are having a ball, not only with the filling but with the boxes! Please someone remind me why we buy toys!!! And why did we not do this outside?
Sticks to everything and everyone!
Oh! It’s FUN and EASY! So much fun I could barely contain myself.
This is candy. Right, Mama?
The filling even found its way into the bathroom.
The mess will get worse, because we have three bags left! Woo-hoo!
Just too much fun waiting for us this evening!

So where to start? A recap of December 2010! Get ready for a hodgepodge – a Christmas jello salad – kind of blog post.
What a whirlwind month December was! I was still doing shoots and editing and designing Christmas cards right up till the last minute. So fortunate to have business, but it makes me a little crazy at times!
Since we didn’t go on a real vacation in 2010, we decided to take the girls to the Gaylord Texan Hotel (right after they were all getting over THE FLU!), and it was a lot of fun. We ate at the restaurants, enjoyed all the pretty Christmas decorations and even went to the ice exhibit. I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I wasn’t all that into it. Of course, it was freezing cold, and the waiting in the line was not the most ideal with 3 kids, but that’s one thing that we can say we did. The girls’ favorite part of the hotel experience? The room, of course! (Swimming was even too cold for them!)
Here are some pics from the hotel trip…
Our room with a view of the atrium (which I definitely recommend).
The ICE! show. Ava hates being cold, so she wasn’t too thrilled about it.
Room Service! They thought this was so cool. I really need to lower the bar!!!
Making million dollar Gingerbread houses.
It was fun! But next time we’ll just go ahead and buy those 2 plane tickets to Puerto Rico. That place is a money pit.
Other fun December happenings…
Big A’s school program. She gets SO into it and is just SO cute. Can you find her?
Little A and Big C’s birthday parties! Can’t believe C is one and Little A turned FOUR! C is about to be as tall as she is.
We had C’s party at the house, ate pizza with family and watched her dig in to her cake.
The Birthday Girl and Mama.
Soon after we went to the local gymnastics place to have Little A’s birthday party. Such a great time! Here’s Little A next to her cousins, Madee, Clay and Kara.
Little A with her Umizoomi cake.
Little A’s REAL birthday, December 14th…
A night at Chick-Fil-A to celebrate. She’s making a craft on Kids’ Night.
And then, of course, Christmas!
Christmas Eve we celebrated with Christopher’s side of the family. Here are all the grandkids so anxious to open gifts.
And a shot from my side of the family’s Christmas…
Love this one of all the girls with big smiles on their faces…Look at Kiki on the couch with an injured knee…
My sisters and I went in together to get my Dad personalized Aggie plates. We were so proud, but maybe not as proud as he was. He didn’t know it but he was driving with expired plates for a week. That was the only way we could do it and keep the surprise till Christmas. Luckily, he’s not a speeder, so his chances of getting pulled over were pretty slim! But, we were still nervous about it!
Here are the girls and Lily going to see what Santa brought them. Lily has the phone in case she needs to get a hold of Santa and customer service at the North Pole.
Excited girls!
I think this might’ve been Little A’s second one of these. Who cares, it’s Christmas.
I think that pretty much sums up December. Surely I left nothing out…
I’m still in disbelief that 2010 is really over. It’s 2011…and I’m going to be THIRTY-FIVE this year! According to my husband’s life schedule we’re pretty much halfway there. (But luckily I have higher expectations than he does!) We joke about it, though it does sound kind of depressing. But life really does keep getting better and more and more fun – just wish it could slow down some.
Looking forward to exciting times this year! Can’t wait to share it all with you.
Oh, and thank you so much for the comments. Keep ‘em coming! They make my day.

Is anyone still reading my blog?! If so, will you please leave me a comment? I need some validation and encouragement. haha (but I’m not really laughing…)
I’m sorry that I haven’t updated in over a month! This post is to check-in and let you know that it has been bothering me that I haven’t posted. I really have been in this funk. January always does it to me. It’s the after-Christmas blues, I think. December was great, but we were so busy and then we had such a great time just hanging out with friends and family.
But, I’m getting motivated to get back into the groove and snap out of it.
Stay tuned for a real post…Happy New Year!

I really cannot believe that this baby is already one.
December 3, 2009 I was at the hospital right now anxiously awaiting her arrival. And at 7:35 pm she was born. She has filled our lives with pure joy (along with her sisters!)
Here are a few pics from her birth…
Right after she was born…
The girls first look at her…
Love this sweet pic. Daddy and all his girls!
Cannot believe it’s been a year. Have I said that already?
Look forward to many, many more birthdays with you, sweet Camille.
(Now, I have tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat!)
So time for a funny…The first thing Little A said to me this morning when we got her out of the crib was, “Mama, put her down and see if she can walk.”
Oh, these girls sure are fun.
Thankfully, she isn’t walking yet. I’m in no rush for her to grow up!

So amidst all the fun shoots for Christmas cards and photos, I had the opportunity to shoot my youngest sister’s (Jill) best friend’s bridals – in AGGIELAND – the greatest place on Earth…especially after the win over Nebraska on Saturday. WHOOP!
I am so excited with so many shots. I am still planning on posting other faves from this fall, but for now, I’m changing it up with a bridal shoot sneak peek.
In other news…the deadline for Christmas card orders will be December 5th. Remember that this year in addition to the traditional style cards, I’m offering the new die-cut shaped cards that are unique and beautiful. I can design a card with photos that you send me or photos that I’ve taken. Let me know if you have any questions or if you’d like to order.
And, now, the Aggie bride in Aggieland…

For the next 3 weeks, I’m going full-speed with more shoots. So, I’m probably just going to be posting one or two favorites from each session on my blog. Sometimes I post more on Facebook.
If you’re a fan of mine, please “like” me on Facebook. In the Spring I’m going to have some kind of giveaway. Just look me up by typing in “jallisonandrews.com | photography and print design”. I appreciate all your continued support!
So here are a few of my latest favorites…
This sweet three month old gave us lots of smiles!
Then we finally got him to sleep!
A new look! My good friend’s little boy trying out the new floor…
This family won a shoot of mine and a set of custom Christmas cards at the Rockwall County Texas A&M Club Golf Tournament Silent Auction this past spring. Yay for donations and yay for Aggies! Do you have an organization that needs a donation? I love to help out and donate my services! It’s always a win-win situation.
Love the Aggie ring on Daddy’s hand and the sweet expression on T’s face…
Another T boy. And boy is he all-boy! He loved climbing and exploring…
He and his sweet brother!
I just love the emotion in this picture – their facial expressions and their sweet loving hands. This shoot was an extended family session of one of my friend’s with whom I used to teach. The grandmother has been recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and these are her daughters. I just feel like their eyes, especially the grandmother’s, are talking to me in this photo. Just knowing their story and seeing this photo literally brings tears to my eyes. They were such a sweet family and full of laughter! I’m honored that I was chosen to take their family photos.
And they did a great job coordinating clothing for 13 people!
Stay tuned for more fall favorites!

We’ve been busy at our house – being sick!
The A girls got sick last Saturday and were sick until Tuesday night, with Scarlet Fever…basically Strep Throat but they break out in a rash at the end. Then this past Friday, I got it. I literally could not get out of bed yesterday. Today I’m a little better. Unfortunately I had to reschedule two shoots, which is such a bummer because the weather is so beautiful right now, and because I’m running out of days! But I know it will all work out in the end.
Sadly, the girls were so sick that they did not even get to go trick or treating. But luckily they did get to go to a Halloween party on Friday night, so they got to wear their costumes. We also carved pumpkins Friday night, and A’s friend P helped.
Here are some pics from our Halloween weekend…
Baby C was pretty annoyed with the nasty pumpkin guts!
I realized later that that knife was not the best one to use to carve a pumpkin.
One cute candy corn witch.
An adorable butterfly…
Building a candy house on Halloween night.
Our candy buckets that didn’t get used.
My precious peacock! I’ve had this costume since Little A was this age. She wore it two years in a row. I just love it. Hopefully C will be able to fit into it again next year.
My poor sick girls on Halloween night…
Hope y’all had a better Halloween and are enjoying this cool fall weather!
