New photography site, new options

I’ve just launched my new photography site! Same address, jallisonandrewsphotography.com.

Two main reasons for the new site. I can use it now for all my proofing instead of a separate site/hoster that I had been using. Also, you can now order your photos through the site. The new site has a fully functional shopping cart. Both features save time and money. I also wanted a fresh, new look. I still have lots of photos to add! Thanks for being patient, and make sure to check back for new photos.

One of the options that I’ve decided to do now is to sell the digital files. For $400 you will receive 25 images that you choose from your session on a CD – fully-edited and formatted at a high resolution (up to 16×20). If you want additional files, they will be $10 each. In addition to that, all prints will be 40% off the listed prices with the purchase of this CD.

I’m really excited to be offering the CD now. I’ve felt conflicted about doing this for awhile. From a business/artistic standpoint, I like being able to see the finished product. And by offering the CD, I don’t get to see the final printed piece. But as a mom and scrapbooker (who’s been a scrapbook slacker for a long time), I know how important those files are. So that’s why I’ve decided to sell them. And you might be wondering why I decided on 25 images. From experience, usually families really love and order around 10-15 actual “poses”, even though there might be 150 proofs. I feel that 25 is a generous amount. Plus I’m giving clients the option to purchase additional images for $10 each once they’ve reached the 25.

Also, if you purchase the CD, I’m selling the prints to you for 40% off. A lot of people will definitely want to print their own which is why they purchase the CD to begin with, but some clients will still want to order prints from me, for those larger prints that will be mounted on art board or for canvases.

I still have the option that if you spend a minimum of $300, for an extra $25, you can have up to 6 images on a CD. It was 8, but I lowered it to 6. But I added that if you reach the minimum and choose to purchase the CD, your subsequent prints will be 30% off.

I hope everything sounds clear and that you will take advantage of these offers! Please visit my site and email me if you have any questions.

And I can’t end the post without a photo, so I wanted to share this one. Big A was crafting yesterday while I was working on some things. When she showed me what she had made I was beyond impressed. She had created these little fairies out of various pieces of paper that she had cut up for their different body parts (including wings and hair, and maybe even wings for hair!), colored and all stapled together. My future little artist in the making!

Oh my gosh…I can't believe Ava did all that! Everything is so detailed! She's more creative at 3 than I am now! HAHA! (No, really…she is.) :)

Lisa…Alex did it, not Ava. Ava just wanted to play with them!
