in Aggieland,friends,tech talk

Here at the Andrews house we’ve really been trying to enjoy the last days of summer. I can’t believe it’s already August, and I’m about to have a first grader in my house!

Lately, we’ve been swimming a lot and have really tried to just take advantage of the last days of a “routineless” summer. Last weekend we (us and Jen Jen and the kids) loaded the circus up and went to visit our friend, Jana, who lives in College Station. Anyone who knows us, knows that we will always find a reason to visit Aggieland…our little slice of heaven. It was Jana’s little boy’s 6th birthday, and Big A and the rest of the crew love playing with him and M and S, his baby sisters. We enjoyed a day at the bounce house place, a big girls’ night out at a fancy restaurant (w/ Jana’s gracious babysitter willing to watch all the kids), a tour at the Blue Bell factory (very cool!) and two fun parties. We had a great time.

Here are some pics to document our fun…

I really want one of these. I’m a sucker for any kind of water slide/toy. The kids loved it!
Big A and Z have such a special bond. :)
In the midst of all our fun summer times, I did have some trauma on the business side of my life. My MacBook crashed about a week after we got home from Puerto Rico. Luckily I had most everything backed up on my desktop and my external hard drive, but I did lose some precious files, including my vacation pictures (and our great family beach pics). Of course, this is a lesson learned for me. BACK UP IMMEDIATELY!
After waiting a week of not having a computer they finally confirmed that nothing could be saved. So the silver lining? I bought a brand new MacBook Pro and the latest versions of Photoshop and Illustrator. I was planning to buy a new computer soon, but not under these circumstances.

So with all these being said, I have been pretty behind but am quickly trying to catch up. I really thank those of you who were affected. Your patience is a blessing to me!
Next up for the summer…more shoots, more invitations to design, a trip to Katy to see my precious niece Lily turn one and more loving on my girls before the summer ends.

Oh, I could do some damage in the Blue Bell factory!!! Ha! So sad about your computer. At least you got a fancy new one. ;)

Will you be up for making the birth announcements for our new little one in February since you will have a new one too??? I really want to use you and your wonderful creative mind!!!
