in random

I have several pictures I want to share from recent shoots, but they’re not ready yet. So, in the meantime I thought I’d share a hodgepodge of recent happenings at the Andrews’ house.

I took the girls to see Monsters vs. Aliens on Saturday night. Christopher had something very exciting and MANly going on – the DRAFT – so it was just the girls and I. When we got there, I didn’t realize that we had shown up for the 3D one. For some reason, I just thought that 3D would give me a bad headache, but I didn’t want to stick around for an hour and wait for the 2D showing. So we got our tickets and glasses and headed to our movie with a giant bucket of popcorn, large cokes, two blankets and a pacifier in tow. Well, let me just tell you it was very cool. Big A LOVED it, and I really did too. It made me want to see every kid movie in 3D. Even Little A kept her glasses on for half the movie, and SAT STILL. Very good. I recommend it.

The kittens are so cute! I would upload a picture but my go-go-gadget arm will not reach my phone. We had a scare with them the other day, though. Tinkerbell kept hiding one (Big A’s favorite). We finally found it in a big bucket in the back of the garage. I thought something was wrong with it, but it’s ok. Turns out that night she hid them all in the bucket. So we got a big chest and put all of them in it, and they’re doing good. All of their eyes are finally open.

Yesterday I actually got caught up on the laundry, and even Christopher helped fold the clothes AND match socks from the enormous sock basket. It felt good. Then last night I had a shoot…thankfully the rain held out for us. Last night I was in the mood to bake something, so we did. It was some kind of browning pudding cake. Very good, although Christopher said he didn’t like it. “It had a bad after taste.” I blamed it on him. He convinced me to use the vanilla that he brought me from Nicaragua. It has a slight bubble gum taste to it, but what’s not to love about that?

On the food subject, I want to let you know that I just had my first can of Progresso Split Pea soup that I’ve been without for a long time. I know. You’re gagging. SPLIT PEA SOUP. I don’t know if my loving it makes me seem weird or like I’m about to turn 85, but it is so good. But if you’re about to run out and buy it, you might have a hard time finding it. Our Wal-Mart stopped carrying it for some strange reason, so I bought a case of it off the Internet. Christopher wasn’t too happy when he found out that 1 case of 12 cans costs me $40. Whatever. So worth it.

And did I mention that I love plums, too? Good thing I didn’t have to order those online.

This may have been the most useless post ever.

I love reading random posts. Must be in the air because another friend that never does that actually did today. I loved it!

Kudos to CA for helping with the socks…I’ll be sure to tell Jason that so his competitive nature comes out in the form of help with the laundry. :)

I’ll whip Jason in sock folding anytime. Maybe we can have a challenge, I’ll bring the Makers.

Did you actually say “Split Pea soup” out loud when you wrote that…if not, then do it now. “Split Pea soup.” UGH!!
