My Adorable Little A…and her hair

in little A,random

I’m really liking this blogging thing. One, because I can go from a post about invitations and photography to a serious one to a random, funny one, like today’s. And, I can, because it’s my blog and I can write about whatever I want. :) Two, because I write about things that I might never share with random strangers, extended family, friends of friends, or good friends that I don’t get to talk to often enough.

Today’s topic is about Little A’s hair, and how, like her personality, is crazy, entertaining and unpredictable. Big A’s hair at this age (16 months) was the perfect mix of body and curls. Little A’s, however, is quite the opposite. It’s STRAIGHT and super fine, although it’s thickened up quite a bit in the past couple of months. It’s finally long enough so that I can put it up, in pigtails or “some hair up some hair down” like my sisters and I have always called it. Here are a couple pics of her that really show her hair in its many forms.

This is actually pretty tame in her down-do. If she sleeps on it weird, it’s sticking up everywhere. (And, yes, she is wearing a bikini top over her pj top.)

Here’s the adorable pigtail-do…

And here’s what it’s like when I’ve taken it down from the pigtails.

And, no, I could NOT resist the pic insert of me. OH. MY. GOSH. WE BOTH HAVE WINGS! Ok, do you realize how much pride I had to swallow to post this? I am so smokin’ hot, I just can’t get over it.

I really want permission to post my friends’ pics from 1986….like Jennifer’s, who at 10 looks like she could have passed for an AARP member. I really can’t believe these hair-dos were in style.

By the way, I’m not going to cut Little A’s bangs for fear of this do:

The mullet, which I arguably sported in Mrs. Fleener’s 4th grade class. I should have been grounded from tight-rolled jeans and three-layered scrunchy socks for that.

1. Little A is cute no matter what! But you definitely caught the spirit of hair in this post!

2. I think another irony in this pose is Little A’s wings are from a hairdo gone wrong from earlier in the day; while your wings are from painstaking hours in front of the mirror to get as much width and heighth as possible!

3. You can post my granny shot if you want, or the mushroom hair, or the bangs… but please don’t get confused to think that any of those might have actually been in style. Remember, I am the one who go the Kaepa’s for the beginning of the NEXT school year… when everyone else had moved onto something else.

Love the blog!

Allison—you should DEFINITELY post Jen’s picture…it would make you jealous though because your picture doesn’t have the great mamba-jamba glasses to go with that great hair style:)

Your girls are so adorable!!
